Best Karaoke Spots in Destin, Miramar Beach and Okaloosa Island

Looking for the best place to sing karaoke in Destin, Miramar Beach and Okaloosa Island?

If you are here on vacation, that’s the perfect time to sing karaoke if you are new at it or nervous about it, because you will probably never see the people again.

I spent my entire life never having the nerve to try karaoke because I don’t consider myself a good singer and I was terrified at the thought of being on stage with a microphone and a crowd watching.

Once I started watching more karaoke, I learned you aren’t supposed to be an excellent singer. The point is to try your best, but most of all, have fun!

I sang karaoke for the first time on a cruise ship in April 2022. My niece sang with me because I was terrified, but I actually had a lot of fun. I’m certain it was terrible, but turns out that no one at karaoke really cares if it’s good or bad.

The crowd often prefers a bad or average singer who loves their song and is having fun as opposed to an experienced and practiced singer—if they are even paying attention, that is. If people wanted to go to a concert, they wouldn’t be at a karaoke bar!

Recently I started searching for local karaoke spots in Destin, Miramar Beach and Okaloosa Island so I could try again but I had a bit of trouble finding a place at first.

Luckily I have found several great karaoke spots now. In fact, there is karaoke 7-nights a week between Destin, Okaloosa Island and Miramar Beach, which you will learn about in this post about the 8 best spots to sing karaoke around here.

At the end of this article, I also added some additional options in the surrounding areas of Fort Walton Beach and Grayton Beach.

1. Kenny D’s Beach Bar

• Days: Wednesdays year-round | Wednesdays and Sundays in June and July
• Time: 7-10pm March – October | 5-8pm November – February
• Address: 2964 Scenic Gulf Dr ~ Miramar Beach, FL 32550

Kenny D’s beach bar in Miramar Beach, Florida, offers karaoke year-round on Wednesday nights with an additional show added on Sunday nights in summer.

I sang karaoke at Kenny D’s for the first time in October of 2022 and I’ve been somewhat of a regular ever since. That was also my first time ever going to Kenny D’s and I understand now why they have such a loyal following. It’s a fun place!

If it’s too busy to get a server outside, there’s a takeout counter for food you can use. Sometimes it takes some time to get a drink because the bar is busy but they usually open an additional outside bar in summer.

Kenny D’s karaoke nights are wildly popular among Destin locals and visitors. Families, spring breakers, snowbirds, and everyone in-between will be out having fun and singing karaoke here.

Expect it to be busy year-round, but especially in summer when the crowd will get too big for the small beach bar and will spill into the streets and the parking lots.

Karaoke at Kenny D’s is outside all year and it can get pretty chilly in the winter months and even on some spring evenings. Kenny D’s does not have heat lamps, and it’s sometimes more windy that close to the water, so dress accordingly.

Arrive early if you want a table outside, but they are tough to get on karaoke nights, even in winter. There are extra chairs and bar stools scattered around though, and a lot of standing room.

Kenny D’s karaoke is family-friendly, so it’s a great place to bring your kids to sing too, unlike some of the other venues on this list which are more of an adult bar scene.

Parking at Kenny D’s is tough because they don’t have many spots available. Many people arrive by bike, golf cart or walking from nearby vacation rentals, but if you are driving, arrive early to find a spot.

The Karaoke host at Kenny D’s is Maddie’s Karaoke & DJ Service, run by husband-and-wife team Steven and Angie Madden. You can check Maddies Facebook Page for current updates and also message them there with questions.

2. Harry T’s at Harborwalk Village

• Days: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
• Time: 8pm-midnight
• Address: 46 Harbor Blvd ~ Destin, FL 32541

Harry T’s at Harborwalk Village brought back karaoke nights in 2023 after being on hiatus since 2019. It’s exciting to have this venue back because it’s one of the best places to sing karaoke in Destin.

They devote the entire upstairs area to the karaoke show at Harry T’s, which is part of what makes it such a great venue. It’s a large room with a bar and plenty of tables and you can see the stage from anywhere in the room.

They offer food service upstairs from a limited menu, but there’s also a full menu downstairs at the restaurant if you want to start there first.

Harry T’s is an open-air bar, but they have warm heat lamps blazing from the ceiling when it’s chilly.

Karaoke at Harry T’s is hosted by Darius Smiley who also hosts the show at AJ’s on the Bayou discussed further down in this post.

Unfortunately, the parking fee is $20 at Harborwalk Village where Harry T’s is located. There’s a City of Destin parking lot across the street at Zebre Street that charges $5 for now, but it’s expected to go up to $20 in May 2023.

Harry T’s offers a $10 parking discount for locals. Ask at Harry T’s for details and requirements.

3. Palms Resort Bistro in Destin

• Days: Sundays and Mondays
• Time: 8pm-11pm
• Address: 4201 Indian Bayou Trail ~ Destin, FL 32541

The Palms Resort recently started hosting karaoke on Sunday and Monday nights on the stage in the Palms Bistro located just inside from the Good Vibes Pool bar in the seating area adjacent to the coffeehouse.

The Palms is a great venue for karaoke with the large stage and a great sound system run by DJ Mike. The Palms is also one of the few on this list that feels more like a restaurant and lounge type performance space than a bar. There’s actually not even a bar in the room although the Good Vibes pool bar is right outside the glass doors.

The karaoke area at The Palms has plenty of tables around the large room with a view of the stage. There are servers for the tables and you can order food or drinks from the full restaurant menu.

So far, there hasn’t been a big karaoke crowd at the Palms, but things will likely pick up once summer hits since this is the newest karaoke spot in town. For now it’s a great place to practice if you are nervous about singing in front of a larger bar crowd!

When you get to the main entrance of the Palms, there are spots near the front to the left marked off for coffee house parking. You can park there for free and get to karaoke by going in through the front doors of the Palms Resort and following signs to the coffeehouse. If the gate is up in the parking garage, it’s a bit closer to park in there and go into the lobby that direction.

4. Fubar on Okaloosa Island

• Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays
• Time: 9pm-1am
• Address: 114 Amberjack Dr ~Okaloosa Island, FL 32548

Fubar is a waterfront pizza and sports bar tucked away on the sound on Okaloosa Island. It’s another fun spot to enjoy regular karaoke nights year-round.

Karaoke at Fubar takes place outside, under the covered patio deck in a corner near the bar. There is usually a good crowd and plenty of singers.

Much of the Fubar karaoke crowd are regulars, unlike Destin and Miramar Beach, where there will be more visitors from out of town.

Fubar has both indoor and outdoor dining and a large bar area. They serve pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads and more.

5. Island Hotel on Okaloosa Island

• Days: Saturdays
• Time: 8-11pm
• Address: 1500 Miracle Strip Parkway SE ~ Okaloosa Island, FL 32548

The Island Resort hotel is located directly on the beach in Fort Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island. Karaoke at the Island takes place on Saturdays year-round. It is not just for guests of the hotel but also open to the public.

Karaoke at the Island Resort takes place outside at the poolside cabana most of the year, but they move it inside for inclement weather and during the colder winter months.

When karaoke is inside, it’s at the Fish House bar in the lobby near the front desk. It’s a spacious area with plenty of seating at tables and the large u-shaped bar.

This is another family-friendly karaoke spot (the other is Kenny D’s) so you will see plenty of kids taking the stage here. Also similar to Kenny D’s, this spot will be mostly tourists, but several local regulars come here too.

I have been to the Island for karaoke a few times and I really enjoy the crowd, atmosphere, and earlier start time than some of the other spots.

The Island hotel is already one of my favorite places because I love the Tripp Tide beach bar also on their property.

6. American Legion Post 296 in Destin

• Days: Fridays
• Time: 7-11pm
• Address: 311 Main Street ~ Destin, FL 32541

I recently found out about karaoke at American Legion in Destin and stopped by to check it out. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this turned out to be a really fun place for karaoke.

Karaoke at American Legion is on Friday nights year-round. The atmosphere is dark and feels like the perfect dive bar. Most of the crowd seems to be locals and regulars, but everyone was very friendly and welcoming to me.

The bar at American Legion is open to the non-military public, although you may have to sign in.

I would have never known this spot existed, or that there was a karaoke night, but luckily someone told me about it and I’m glad to have found it. You can check the American Legion Post 296 Facebook page for updates.

7. AJ’s Oyster Shanty on Okaloosa Island

• Days: Wednesdays
• Time: 6-9pm (hours vary)
• Address: 108 Santa Rosa Blvd ~ Okaloosa Island, FL 32548

AJ’s Oyster Shanty on Okaloosa Island is yet another fun spot for karaoke taking place on Wednesday nights year-round. AJ’s Oyster Shanty is the smallest of the AJ’s locations, but it’s a great karaoke venue.

Karaoke here takes place outside all year, but they have heat lamps going in the colder months. I have seen the start time vary a bit at different times a year, so check the AJ’s Oyster Shanty Facebook page for current information.

If you want an extra long night of karaoke, start the night here at 7pm and then move over to Fubar a few blocks away when it’s finished and go until 1am. That’s what some regulars here do!

8. Rick’s on the Island

• Days: Mondays
• Time: 6-9pm
• Address: 1318 Miracle Strip Pkwy SE ~ Okaloosa Island, FL 32548

Rick’s on the Island has karaoke on Monday nights starting in March and running through summer. They are on Okaloosa Island directly across the street from the Island Resort hotel mentioned above.

I have not checked this one out in person yet because it just started up for the season but I will update as soon as I can get there.

Other Karaoke Spots in the Area

Now that we have covered all the best spots for karaoke in Destin, Miramar Beach, and Okaloosa Island, let’s talk about a few others located nearby in Fort Walton Beach (over the bridge going west from Okaloosa Island) and Grayton Beach on Highway 30a.

AJ’s on the Bayou in Fort Walton Beach

AJ’s on the Bayou in Fort Walton Beach hosts karaoke on Tuesday nights from 5-8pm. Sometimes I’ve seen it listed as 6-9pm, so check the AJ’s on the Bayou Facebook page for updates before you go.

Karaoke at AJ’s on the Bayou is hosted by Darius Smiley who also hosts the Harry T’s show in Destin mentioned above.

The Block in Fort Walton Beach

The Block in Fort Walton Beach is a bar/nightclub with 3 bars under one roof. They hold karaoke in their Sports and Karaoke bar 5 nights a week from 6pm-2am on Wednesday and Thursday, 6pm-4am on Friday and Saturday, and 8pm-2am on Sunday.

AJ’s in Grayton Beach

AJ’s in Grayton Beach hosts karaoke on Thursday nights year-round. The times seem to change but there’s a music lineup posted weekly on the AJ’s Grayton Beach Facebook page, so be sure and check there before you go. I’ve seen karaoke there listed as starting at 6pm, 7pm, and 9pm on various weeks throughout the year.

Karaoke at AJ’s in Grayton Beach is hosted by Brandon Smith who also hosts karaoke at Rick’s on the Island mentioned above.
