Looking for the best place to watch football on Destin Harbor? It’s almost football season so luckily there are several great options.
Here are my favorite game-day spots in the Destin harbor area. All these choices have food and drink specials during the game, plenty of TVs of course.
Harry T’s Lighthouse Restaurant
Harry T’s is most people’s top choice for watching a football game in Destin and especially on Destin Harbor because the downstairs bar and restaurant area at Harry T’s is such an immersive football watching atmosphere.
On game days the TV volume is turned up and it has the feel of a fun sports bar more than a restaurant. The main restaurant area is covered in TV’s so it’s impossible to not have a view of the game.
It’s so festive and sports themed during the big games that you might feel awkward and out of place if you aren’t there to watch football. In that case you can still enjoy the atmosphere away from the TVs in the outside dining area or with less of them upstairs.
Sometimes they also have TVs with games on in a smaller section of the outdoor dining patio with beautiful views of Destin Harbor.
Harry T’s Lighthouse Restaurant also hosts the official watch parties for Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, UCF, and Auburn.
Location and Parking for Harry T’s
Harry T’s Restaurant is located directly on the harbor in the center of Harborwalk Village right in front of the Emerald Grande Resort.
It’s a little bit of a walk from the main Harborwalk outdoor parking lot but you can get a lot closer by parking in the Emerald Grande parking garage. The entrance to the garage is near the resort lobby check-in area. Harborwalk guests who are not staying at Emerald Grande are still free to utilize the parking garage.
When you enter the garage, you are actually on the 3rd level because much of it is below ground. To get close to Harry T’s, circle around to go 2 levels down all the way to level 1. When you get to level 1 of the garage, look for the entrance to Harborwalk Village and park near there. From that spot you will just walk through a hallway and come out in the Village directly in front of the restaurant without having to walk down any stairs or take an elevator.
Harborwalk Village charges $10 to park but only during the busy times of summer, events, and holiday weekends. So much of the fall time will be free parking. It varies a lot when they charge though so there’s no way to know ahead of time unfortunately.
AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar
AJ’s Seafood and Oyster House is another favorite spot for watching football games on Destin Harbor.
There are TVs at the upstairs and downstairs bars inside and also a huge Jumbotron TV outside with a large courtyard area filled with tables, barstools, and a lively atmosphere.
AJ’s is the largest and best outdoor spot to watch a football game thanks to the big Jumbotron and courtyard.
Also if you don’t want to be as immersed in the game at AJ’s, you can sit closer to the harbor where you can enjoy the sounds of live music or watch the charter boats coming while still keeping an eye on the TV.
Location and Parking Tips for Ajs
You can walk to AJ’s from Harborwalk Village along the Boardwalk or you can park at AJ’s. They have own free parking lot on Highway 98 a little bit east of Harborwalk Village. If that one is full they also have an overflow lot across the street which almost always has spots.
Tailfins Alehouse and Oyster Bar
Tailfins is another great spot on Destin Harbor for watching football games. Tailfins is a 3-level restaurant with unsurpassed panoramic views of Destin Harbor from the top deck and a bar with TVs on every level.
Tailfins also has a big Jumbotron TV on the upper level in addition to the TVs around the bar. This top deck is an indoor/outdoor open air area with a bar and plenty of tables and seating areas.
The lower level of Tailfins opens to the Boardwalk on Destin Harbor so it’s an easy way to stop by and check out the game while also enjoying live music at the tiki hut just outside.
Location and Parking Tips for Tailfins
Tailfins is located right next to AJ’s so you can walk there from any spot along the boardwalk or Harborwalk Village. They also have a dedicated parking lot on highway 98.
Landsharks Pizza
Landsharks pizza is another favorite spot on Destin Harbor to watch the game. It’s not directly on the water like the other choices but it’s just steps away from Destin Harbor on Highway 98.
Landsharks offers football specials on food and drinks for the games. It’s a popular locals spot and features TVs stretching around the indoor bar.
Location and Parking Tips for Landsharks Pizza
Landsharks has a parking lot directly behind the restaurant on Highway 98 or you can walk up the small hill from Destin Harbor to find it. Landsharks is directly behind the Boathouse, Harbor Tavern, and Red Door Saloon cluster.
